From Bestselling Author, Abby Reynolds.
This is a stand alone novel. It is not a cliffhanger. And it is the first novel in the Forehead Kisses Series.
Can there be too many pieces to piece back together?
This is a question Keira faces every day. It’s impossible for her to go anywhere unaccompanied by her cousin, the only person who knows what happened on that horrific night a year ago. The guilt and pain weigh her down every day. Unwilling to open up to anyone and give someone a chance, she lives in solitude.
For her, that’s the only way to live.
Liam struggles with his own demons. After losing someone who means the world to him, he combats his anger and pain on a daily basis. He dives into violence and sex, losing himself more and more. But as soon as he meets Keira, he recognizes the same pain he suffers every day. And he pursues her, wanting to connect to someone who understands.
Keira can’t put herself back together, and neither can Liam. But can they do it together?

Let me start out by saying,I loved the first book. I absolutely could not wait to read this book,I really loved the characters and the storyline. Once I started reading this one I realized my folly. Liam was awesome! All good leading male characters should be like him; sweet, loyal, tender, patient, passionate. All great traits. Kiera was a struggle for me, it felt like she started to take two steps forward only to jump a mile backwards. About 75% into the book I had a very real "jump the shark" moment. I absolutely HATED the ending. It really feels more like a money grab than a need to expand on Liam and Kiera's story. I don't really see the need to drag it out, and that's the impression I'm getting from the fact that this book ended this way and now to wait for the next part of their story. I think it would have been much more effective to give Liam and Kiera their HEA with the conclusion of this book and give Scotty the next book, to get in his world. Oh well, guess I'll never knowProduct details

Unbreakable Forehead Kisses #1 edition by Abby Reynolds Dinoman Designs Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
It left me wondering. It was not technically a cliffhanger, but I did have a few moments of head scratching at the end and realizing that as much as the author would like to believe this is a stand-alone... Not so much.
Abuse is a hard topic to cover and one that often is quite difficult.
Thank you to the author for letting me sample her work for free. It takes the risk out of a new author for a reader.
As to editing... FREE is hard to recover the cost of a good editor that can run an author thousands of dollars in costs and gets a good cut even on paid books. Please keep that in mind the next time you are offered a work at little or no financial risk.
3.5 stars. Can be read as a standalone. Awwww, shucks, but I'm a SUCKER for abused women and the man that puts them back together. After her entire world is shattered, Keira trusts no one but her cousin and goes nowhere without him. She's plagued with panic attacks and guilt that barely allows her to get through each day. Her cousin tries to force her out of her shell by including her in things with his buddies. Liam is immediately draw to the painfully shy Keira. I think he realizes from that first moment they are somewhat kindred spirits. Liam's a self-proclaimed one-night stand man but something in Keira makes him want to put that past to rest. He's PAINFULLY patient trying to figure out what makes Keira tick. Seriously, Liam was a saint, and I *almost* kinda loathed him for that. But just when things were looking up, the bottom dropped out. At first I kinda thought Keira overreacted, but then I kinda dug her for sticking to her values. The HEA almost ended a bit too quick for me, but how could you not love Liam? This book had quite a few typos (my personal pet peeve) but overall, I enjoy this.
This one definitely would have been a 4 star read for me if it had not been for the last 3 chapters. Given what we've learned about our H/h through the course of this story, seen how they've grown as individuals & collectively; I just couldn't get behind the drastic measures the heroine chose to take with the "drama" that unfolds towards the end.
I could totally see & understand her being angry with our hero for keeping this from her, & showing/telling him just how displeased she was about that. But given what he has shown us, the reader, & her, just the type of man he is through the course of this novel, to take it as far & where she took it; made no sense to me. It came off as MAJORLY contrived drama. And it sort of ruined the overall story for me.
Also, there were way too many times when the sentimental things came off as forced. It felt a bit unbalanced for me. With the exception of once, when I actually cried some tears. Other times I would force myself not to roll my eyes at certain things. It just would come off rather cheesy or just flat out forced.
I still think that overall this was a decent enough read. I would recommend it. But I do feel there is no need to continue this into a series. There was just nothing here, compelling enough for me, to warrant a 2nd or 3rd book concerning these characters.
So I will not be moving forward with the 2nd book.
Happy Reading )
And why are there so many 5 star reviews? Did I miss something? *Knock, knock, knock...is this thing even on?* Never in all of my life have I disliked a character so much...Keira.....What in the crap??? I get it, she had to deal with some pretty cruddy stuff, but get some help and get over yourself!!!! Don't buy in to all the 5 star hype...Save yourself some time and money, and find something less......stupid...
I'm going to give you the warning I didn't get. This is not a complete book. It's 18 chapters. It's spread out over 3 different books. The story itself was just ok. For a harda$$ fighter the H wasn't harda$$ at all. It was a over the top mushiness with instalove. It was also repetitive. It didn't capture my interest enough to want to pay $8.89 for 340 pages. The only good thing is I got it free. I've lost count of how many free books get me so hooked I'll buy every book in the series...this is not one of them.
It was just okay for me. I didn't like how there was a disclaimer in the blurb about it being a stand alone then getting to the end and finding I had another book to purchase. It had some gaps and discrepancies with the story and timeline. Just not something I'll continue with.
Even though this book was riddled with grammatical and syntax errors, I pushed through it. I found the characters to be average in liability, with Liam being a sometimes exceedingly likable character. However, I found that some of Liam's actions and dialogue were very contrary to character. The secondary characters, including Scotty, were very one dimensional. I enjoyed the slow build of trust, feelings, and sexual tension between Keira and Liam, but when there was finally some action, it was a letdown. I got this book as a freebie, but I would likely not read another book by this author again, and I'm not motivated to read the continuation of Keita and Liam's story. The story seemed like it should have ended with Unbreakable, and the juvenile writing and excess of grammatical errors prevent me from reading more by this author.
